Welcome to the Seventh Riding of the Elkhorn Classic Stage Race

Baker City, Oregon, the Elkhorn Classic Stage Race is a three-day, four-stage event ridden throughout
the Powder River Valley, the base of the Wallowa Mountain range, and the Elkhorn Mountain range, culminating with
the Elkhorn Classic's signature 8-mile finishing climb to the summit of Dooley Mountain.
Elkhorn offers the following categories:
Men - Pro/1/2
Men 3
Men 4/5
Men Masters 40+
Women Pro/1/2 & Women 3/4 (one field but scored separately)
NOTE: There is a 100 rider limit for each field with the exception of the Men 4/5 which has a field limit of 75 riders due to OBRA restrictions
The Latest News
Thanks to the generous donation of local Baker City business
owners: There will be a matching GC payout for the women's Pro/1/2 field and
matching stage payout in the Gold Rush Criterium stage.
Business owners have also offered Host Housing on a first-come-first-serve
basis for women racers as well.
The Pleasant Valley Time Trial staging area at Thunder Mountain Raceway has
been sold. We are working with city officials to obtain use from the new
owners, reverse the course starging from the East end of town and riding East
then West, or move the location. We'll keep you posted.
Volunteers to drive are always welcomed, let us know if you have friends or
family interested in helping for a race discount.
REMINDER: OBRA and the organizers of this race do not provide insurance coverage for injuries that occur at the race.
The costs related to those injuries are the responsibility of the individual participant.

Rules of Entry and Racing:
The Elkhorn Classic Stage Race is an Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA)
sanctioned event. As such all entrants will be required to do one of the following:
A) present an OBRA, ABR, CBR, or ACA membership card
B) purchase an OBRA event license ($5) good for all days of Elkhorn
C) purchase an OBRA annual license ($20), good through 12-31-2008
D) To obtain an OBRA license, a valid UCI, or USAC license will be required
to prove a race category beyond a Category 5 rating
NOTES:
*) UCI or USAC licenses will not be accepted
*) Masters entrants MUST present a valid government issued ID
*) All rulings will be interpreted by the Chief Official following OBRA
race rules which can be found at
www.obra.org.
*) Helmets are required.
